Default Coin holder alternative

I know people are unhappy about not having a designated coin holder, but shouldn't this suffice. (see photo)...

One would think so....but I'm sure some will find something wrong with this solution just be cause they want to.

Just get one of these for 3IS!

Amazon.com: Winplus AC02000606 Coin Holder: Automotive Amazon.com: Winplus AC02000606 Coin Holder: Automotive

My 2002 Acura TL-S had a place where you could throw coins in but it could slip behind it into the dash causing rattling noise. So I bought one of these.

Amazon.com: Custom Accessories 91116 Coin Holder: Automotive Amazon.com: Custom Accessories 91116 Coin Holder: Automotive

I don't see why not, but the only minor concern is coins rattling.

Going to be flamed for this, but money is dirty and I wouldn't want it in an area I always touch to open / close the door. Credit due for good thinking though!

I am a physician who washes his hands 100 times a day. Rest assured that I don't touch the coins. There aren't that many coins in the well :-)

I'm thinking about buying the factory ashtray for the cup holder. The one on amazon is nice, but I don't like showing off how many pennies I have out in the open.

But that would still rattle. Not sure if that's a good option for coins.

Well, you could line the ash tray you got from Amazon with sound deadening material and make a top secured with a neoprene seal. Or....you could throw some an unused Kleenex in the bottom Or...you could practice meditation while driving and imagine that the coins were not there

+1 . . . . and once the volume of change increases, I could see it splashing out when you close the door.

Money is one of the dirty and nastiest things you will touch in life. Not going to be storing dirty coins in my car.

Good idea though.

The coin holder that fits into the cupholder would be the best idea, since our cupholders are quite useless.
