I'm trying to pull down on the tab behind the mirror but no luck ! Damn finger hurts for trying it !! Any other way ??

 

The mirror is just held on by 4 tabs and they just pull straight off.

 

So just pull forward and it should come right off ??

 

Here is an option from HID powerhouse. Its not on the website anymore, but they offer Titan RR Super White LEDs in addition to the ones in the link. Both fit the 2014 IS350 model. I purchased the TitanRR's when they were available on the website. Im sure you can call and order those specifically if thats what you want.

I just did this yesterday, try to get your finger in betwen one of the little tabs to loosen it a little and pull gently but firmly. You'll hear it unsnap, once one goes, the other ones will unsnap. I didn' t pull them out forward I worked the edges where the clips were until it came off. Once you do one, the other one will be easy to take off. Putting it all back was harder just because everything has to line up perfectly and sometimes it just doesn't want to.

do the LED puddle lights dim on and off or do they just turn on / off?

 

When I put them in , they dimmed in and out for me , y ? Are others just shutting on and off ?? That's not cool ;-)

 

not sure.. i just read that they turn on/off in the 4GS DIY thread . Do they illuminate as much as the stock bulbs? ( know LED looks better but does it illuminate just as much?)

 

Yes they do !! I tested it with all the lights off in the garage and there is a big difference !! The floor seems to light up more ;-)

 

sorry to bump an old thread
should i use a flank LED so that the light points downward after the LED bulb is installed on its side?
or does the harness point the LED bulb straight down after the install?

i've also searched up that thread before, but was not sure of the orientation of the pic

seems like the light source should be pointing down vertical on the tip of the bulb in the 3IS instead of the bulb being installed horizontally and the light source on its side like a flank bulb?

for those who have done the mod, please verify so i can see if i already have the bulb from my 2IS or will have to purchase another one
