I read something on the net that said on The F sport I can turn off the traction control? Is this true?
I bought and IS 250 AWD F sport, will my car have this feature?

Yeap! Just press 5 sec the Trac Control and you will see on your dash the yellow light turn on.
It has two modes, one quick press turns off the traction control (TRC OFF), and this will turn back on when you increase the speed (for situations where you're stuck in mud or snow). If you press and hold for more than three seconds, you also turn off the stability control (TRC OFF and VSC indicator will be lit). This will not turn back on when speed increases. Note also that the pre-crash safe system will be disabled...

Yeah, I've been browsing the user manual tonight
Thanks for the info. The first mode - traction control resumes after a certain speed exists in 2IS. The 2nd mode - with the traction control button pushed and disabled entirely - it is not available in 2006 2IS but is available in the subsequent years (07-13) but in any case, the traction control button is a bit hidden by the steering wheel.
Does the SNOW button only help when at a standstill or does it tweak something else as well when moving in snow conditions?
No, only when starting from standstill. It disengages when you achieve a certain speed. Don't remember how fast. It's all described in your user manual.
