Default Navi Around Staples Center...

Took my "Snow Bunny" down to L.A. Live tonight and my Navi looked great down there. Love the 3D Building of Downtown Los Angeles.

you know, for playing catch up on 3D technology and having more time than anyone else to get it in their cars, the graphics arent that great.

Click on the compass at the top left corner. You will see that it changes the map mode from 2D then to 3D. Also it only works in low elevation areas like Downtown LA. Try it and I'm sure it will work.

It's really good to have a 3D nav of that quality on Audi + Mercedes -- eliminates any confusion as to where to have the car towed to and it's always helpful to have a detailed visual aid when one is broken down in an unfamiliar city.

I'm sorry!! I couldn't help myself.

As cool as the 3D view is, it's pretty much useless gimmick (unless you're in a blimp, etc). A good ground or street view would be much more useful.

indeed... i find the portable navs that show street view pics of the destination the most useful of them all... I think European nav on IS does something similar so we will see once someone takes pictures.

i think in few years everyone will be using street view for maps and that will be extra cool.

That's awesome. How were you able to have the nav show 3D images? I'm still stuck on the 2D. Still Trying to learn how to use this new nav
