rough ride with 18"
Have just picked up 2014 IS350 all wheel drive.
Only 18" wheels available now.
Two different sizes with rear wider.
Need to change wheels and tires to 17"
Any suggestions on where to do this?

Granted, Iv never heard anyone complain about rough ride on 18s normally. Did you test drive the car before hand? I would think the AWD suspension would be softer compared to the RWD Fsport stuff.
I would just wait for someone with 17s who wants to trade for the 18s.

I wonder did you test drive the non F-Sport IS?
I just read some people comment the soft ride in F-Sport when it is in normal mode.
Since you own the car already, I wonder how do you compare the ride between the F-Sport and the non F-Sport when they are both in normal mode?
thanks

I believe the springs are different in the F model, ( I could be wrong) and have slightly more aggressive rates to them. So if you are going with a non-Fsport I can only imagine it will ride the same or better than mine. Normal mode ride quality in my F-Sport is still 100% better than my previous Luxury package IS350. My wife agrees as well, she was very concerned about this and loves the car! She says " no more headaches from all the bumps and un-even roads here in chicago)

i just picked up my 2014 F sport last weekend and I think compared to my 2012 F sport that the new 2014 model rides a lot softer in normal mode. I have the 2014 IS250FSPORT. I didn't know if this was a change in the sports suspension on the car or the fact that the tires have hydrogen in them but I tend to find myself driving more in sport mode because I like that feel better then the regular drive mode. Whatever it is both modes the ride is very smooth and not bumpy at all. I have had five of these cars and have never experienced a bumpy ride and I live in Los Angeles.

The pursuit of F
- Check your tire pressure is set lower to the recommended level (32?) for a more comfortable ride since the dealers commonly inflate to 36-38 PSI.

I have not driven the regular models, but from what I have been told by Lexus when I was questioning this before I bought was that both the 250/350/F-Sport will ride almost exactly the same when in normal mode. The F-Sport adds the sport + mode, which makes it very stiff for cornering.

Thanks gocubs08 for sharing.
I have driven a regular IS250AWD and it is much more comfortable over bump and curb off the dealership entrance when compared to my 2 gen IS350 w/ luxury package as well. So what you described has confirmed my guess. The non F Sport and F Sport should be about the same in normal mode. I still haven't had a chance to try out a F Sport yet.
One thing is the tires also matter. Some F Sport IS comes with summer tires and usually they are more comfortable than all seasons.

is350 AWD standard:
17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with 225/45R17 V-rated all-season performance tires[*]
is350 AWD optional:
225/40R18 (front), 255/35R18 (rear) all-season performance tires[*]
Maybe he has the optional wheels.
