So I got my full front clear bra done with Suntek film, not bad at all. The guy said this was one of his toughest install on the bumper because of the many lines and curves but he did an excellent job!

Did they use a kit? I was actually thinking about getting mine done today

No kit, all custom cut which IMO seems better that way .

Can you take some close up pics if you don't mind? Are there any places where there are visible seams?

Alius,

Did the guy have to remove the bumper for the installation?

I'll take close up pics and post 'em up by tomorrow, but he hid the hood and fender seems by wrapping it under. The bumper on the other hand had to be split in different places, especially between the headlights and the DRLs because of the lines. And nope he didn't take the bumper out since I didn't request it but not sure if he would've done it that way.

Either way the pictures will explain more. From 3+ feet out you won't notice theres even a bra on, I guess it also helps the car is white. But the whole hood is wrapped so you won't see any seams there.

Now of course I'll have to clean the seams every week with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol.

Went to the Xpel office in Houston and they quoted $2245 for full hood, front bumper, fenders, and side skirts. They were working a three lambos and a porche and it looked like the installer did a good job on those. Gonna check other places that install Xpel.

Got a quote from the dealer for bumper and hood (no side mirrors) and it came in at $1295. $1295 will buy a pretty good touch up/freshen up job, not sure it is worth it.

Think about it this way...touchups will never look 100%, and paint matching is not a given. Plus...you'll have to drive it around for years to accumulate enough chips to make the repaint worth it, then the repaint will start getting chipped again. You do the clearbra its always perfect and you never have to worry about it.

Is this the same thing that Lexus offers as one of their accessories. Im suppose to get mine done on monday...All the dealer does is contract it out to a company that does it.

I wouldn't have it done at the dealer, its a precut kit and they look crappy.

Find a really great installer, do some research into the different materials, and go that route.

I'm going to Alius' installer located in Deer Park, Long Island NY. They use Suntek film and do custom cut only. I checked out their work the other day, and the job on a new BMW 6 series was very good. They're charging me $1,300 for full front bumper, full rear bumper, full hood, 1/3 fenders, and all 4 door cups.

That's a lot better than the $2245 I got quoted. Of course it was Xpel's shop so I was expecting it to be a little pricier, but not that much.

The Lexus dealer where I'm at has a contract with a local company here in the area. Not all dealers do the work themselves...the same with tint.

That's an awesome deal, I plan to go to him again for a black gloss vinyl roof soon too.
