I believe this maybe still applicable for today.. Federal law supersedes the state law. If the car did not come with a built-in factory front plate mount, the front plate isn't required.

That's not the case in NJ.

I'll tell you.
If the car did not come with a built-in factory front plate mount,a front plate still must be installed.
Two holes drilled into the bumper cover to attach the Toyota plate bracket..

I think this car looks amazing. It is a very bold statement by Lexus. I like how it is so aggressive for the sport version and is not dumbed down too much from the concepts. I think this will fly off of the lots and it is definitely needed. BMW, Audi, and MB should be scared of this. This IS looks unlike anything else out there. Exterior is bold and exciting while the interior has received some needed improvements. I love the gauges, dash, seats, attention to detail, rear seat fold down, space, and design. Can't wait for the official reveal and the day I see one in person. I'm ready to drive one.

Need to see more pictures, but I like some aspects of the design. My only qualm is I wish the headlights were more refined. The actual headlight housing with the shallot to emphasize the bulb, seems unnecessary in an already heavily stylized front. I feel like Lexus doesn't always get the shape right (I.e. gx and Rx face with the semi crossed eye look)

I am glad they took some risks though.

This sounds like port installed or part of the post dealer installed to me (not mandatory). If this is the case, then would be no different, then the federal law could still apply.

Th customer can special order a car and instruct the dealer not to drill the holes for the front plate mount. It would be almost no different than other states that do require plates. (ie. WA which requires front plate but I don't have one)

Unless we're talking about US made cars which do have the built-in mount then you can't get away from it. Interestingly, for the Japanese market for Lexus, their cars are are factory cut (as per JP sec) for front plates from the factory.

I think the new design looks great, with one exception. Based solely on the pictures, I don't think the stereo portion of the console goes with the rest of the interior. Kind of looks like it is from the 70's or something. Perhaps the pictures just doesn't do it justice. I'll have to wait and see it in person before making a final decision.

the plastic of the vents looks like the same cheap "gold" plastic as the 1st gen pre facelift and 2nd gen pre facelift.
then with the facelift they change it to a nice black soft touch material. why can't they do this from the 1st time.
also the radio (and it's plastic) looks like it came from a 15yr old bmw

Default front spindle = Predator

Does the 3rd Gen reminds you of the Predator, the front spindle grill.

so if it his is the case I would mount the center piece then wrap it to match the cars color. Heck you could take off the wrapped mounted piece if you wanted to switch back and forth. Not sure if it will be a rectangular piece or a trapezoidal piece that will completely divide the grille.

Seriously I still dont get why people are complaining.
It looks better in every way then any other sedan out there. It was about time someone does an agressive looking car from factory.

Comparing this to q50 makes me laugh. When I see that car it reminds me so much of the allready ugly looking mazda 6. Every single thing about it is rounded and off in my opinion and I dont want to start on the interior.

This is the greatest thing lexus could do and most people dont like it... I dont get it
Some even compare it to the bland and cheaply done 1st gen, i meen come on...

As for the interior, center consloe cnt be any cheaper then it allready is in the 2nd gen.

I love every single aspect of it, minus the same design of beefy not flowing well mirrors.

I wonder why Lexus insist to use the same old foot operated parking brake on a new designed car in 2013.
