Cruise Control cut-out
Twice in the last couple of weeks my cruise control has cut-out while driving. Both at night in cold sleet.
The first time I felt the car go out of cruise and saw note on the speedo saying something like "cruse control not available." I shut the cruise off and drove home. There were no problems after that until Friday night.
That night, again, the cruise shut down. I drove manually for a while and then turned it back on, and it set correctly.
Shortly afterwards, however, I got a bright yellow note in the middle of the speedo telling me that the emergency forward braking was not working, along with something about the radar speed sensor. There was also yellow warning light showing on the right side of the speedo. I shut it off and drove home manually.
Again the next day everything was fine and I was able to use cruise while driving through town.
I will make a service appointment to have it looked at. But I'm wondering if it set a yellow warning light (that is now off ...) did it also throw a code that the shop will be able to see?

You said it happens when driving in sleet. I suspect the radar sensor area gets covered with a layer of ice that is too thick for the sensor to work properly.
Have that issue with the front parking sensors going off while driving in sleet or a sloppy snow storm. When I get to my destination, the front end is all iced up.

Excerpt from TIS from IS 350 cruise control section:
If either of the following conditions occurs, the ECM cancels the cruise control while retaining the set vehicle speed in its memory.
1) The wipers operate at HI speed.
2) The measurement becomes extremely unstable due to poor weather conditions.
Cruise control is prohibited until the normal operating conditions are met or the cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the ON-OFF button on the cruise control switch.
