How do I change a 2-way switch into a 3-way toggle switch for power folding mirrors?
I started on this project 4 years ago and got my US 3IS 2015 to have power folding mirrors. I had to order the power mirror motors from Japan/China and retrofitted them into the original mirror housings. They fit just fine but I did still had lots of modifying, cutting, soldering, and rewiring. At that time I just used a simple Toyota mirror switch with a control box since I couldn't make changes in the ECM. I then moved on and figured out how to make the mirrors open and close when locking and unlocking the doors with additional wiring. I have control on opening and closing the mirrors while the car is on. Now I've been trying to figure out how to change from a 2-way switch to a 3-way toggle switch so that the mirrors don't always have to close when I lock the car. I think I need to add an additional relay and reroute some wiring with a 3-way toggle switch. I found a 3-way switch used on an older LS430 could work but I need to do research on its wiring. Anyone have knowledge on this kind of wiring and other 3-way toggle switches to use?
