Default Transmission issue?

Hello Community! I have a 2023 IS 300 and when I am cruising at street speed (40 to 45) and hit the gas to pass, the car accelerates and holds 3rd or 4th gear a little too long in my opinion.
Sometimes I up shift with the paddles, I don't know if this is normal, since this is my first turbocharged car.
Some feedback will be greatly appreciated.

TIA.
David

Need more information. Try posting a video of what you're referring to.

Sometimes my IS 350 would do this, and my IS 500 as well, but only if I really stomp the gas. I guess the car is trying to keep the RPMs up for added acceleration. Could that be what you are seeing?

You can hold the right paddle to send it to the highest gear possible.
