Default Sms/email

Ever since i turned on Android auto i dont see text messages and emails under the phone icon in the car, i can see sms messages in android auto, why not at both the places?

Do your device permissions include the ability to access your SMS messages and emails? I believe you can find those in the Bluetooth settings on your phone, specifically the ones for your car's pairing.

Yes and i use the same phone in my BMW and can see messages under both phone and Android auto in the car . Is this a setting i need to change in the lexus?

So what I am thinking may have happened - since a similar thing happened to my wife's phone when she added it to her X3 and turned Android Auto on in that car - is that the Bluetooth permissions may not be completely set up right.

If I were you, I'd double-check both the phone's settings and the car's settings.
