Default Moonroof Not Flush

Hello. The front part of my moonroof does not sit flush, what to do?

Background: My 2016 IS was stolen, the moonroof was shattered, the car was eventually found and moonroof was replaced.

Issue: After the install, the moonroof does not sit flush and letting in some water from the rain.
I performed the reset/recalibration but the issue of gap and not sitting flush is still there.

Thank you for your input!

Take it back to the installer, they didn’t do it right, shouldn’t be leaking.

Looks like they used the wrong size glass.

thanks kj07xk and jtrue28 for the input.

i went back to the installer a week ago and he “adjusted” it. talked to him and said this is the wrong part and got defensive and the bad mechanic bull**** started.

im thinking of going to another spot. here is what they installed on mine. can anyone chime in what glass / part number they have on their 16-17 IS?

thanks

If you went thru insurance network you can go to your insurance company and explain what is going on. They should cover till it is properly repaired to your satisfaction

^What was said above. If done through insurance it is supposed to have a guarantee of workmanship. If you paid out of pocket, and you gave them one shot to fix it, you can try another shop, then take the original to small claims for the cost to make it right. You have to give them the opportunity to fix it, but after that...

it's the right part, just not adjusted correctly. The bolts go into a slotted channel and needs someone pushing the glass up from inside while tightening them down to get the correct fitment. Bad mechanic! You can DIY this if you have a Torx driver, it's just 4 bolts. 15 minute job.
