Default PVD Chrome vs Black Gloss

I have to get my rims repaired on my 21'IS 350. The vendor that my dealer uses says they can only replace the OEM Black Chrome rims with Black gloss rims. I bought the wheel and protection plan so that the chrome can be fixed, but apparently those are not covered in the contract so they were saying they would replace them with a black gloss rim. I was debating cancelling the contract now and going somewhere to get them fixed, but after research here I see most places dont repair these rims. So does it make sense to keep the protection plan and get them replaced with the black gloss rims? Does anyone have pics of those wheels on their IS? I love the black chrome wheels but long term since most places don't fix the chrome maybe keeping the plan and getting gloss black is more economic, but I'm not sure how they would look on the car.

There aren't any gloss-black 19-inch wheels for the IS currently, so I am not sure what they are referring to unless it's the 18-inch wheel that can be had on the IS 300 (which would require new tires, obviously). Maybe this is a semantics issue? Could they be talking about refinishing the existing wheels in gloss black?

Yea the guy on the phone was so unclear , maybe he meant refinishing the wheels in gloss black. What would you do if that were the case?

Curious as to what they are referring to with the gloss black rim. Don't know of any. Or if it's the same stock rim, but gloss black. Curious to see what that may look like.
Keep us posted!

Yes, those are the IS350 rims, but painted gloss black (not the stock black chrome).

Default Black Chrome PVD Wheels

After 10 year and assorted road rash I decided to replace the Rims , Tires and TPMS sensors in my 2014 is 350 F Sport. I went with the Black PVD chrome wheels for my car from the Wheel Exchange on Ebay. I had the dark pewter finish originally but I think these Black Chrome PVD finished rims are just sexy. They are exchange items so you do pay a deposit that you get back unless you return a broken wheel.

Looks good, but don't those present the same problem as not being able to fix or touch up?
