I ordered new wiper blade inserts from Lexus. Checked it was the right part for my 2018 IS. Went to install them and on the original ones on the car it looks like the rubber and metal tabs are glued together. A dealer had replaced the inserts two years ago, or maybe the replaced the arms. Should I just order a whole new wiper assembly? Or are the metal tabs sold separately?

I had issues getting the correct wiper inserts and being far away from a dealer I did not want to go back. I wanted to keep the oem wipers because I liked the look and logo. I just got some from autozone put them on and they look fine. I do not even notice the difference from oem. That is always an option same with a junkyard if you can find the same wipers I bet Lexus uses the same ones on a couple cars. I have not seen just the metal pieces sold separately.
I like the OEM ones and they last me a couple years each. I wound up ordering the OEM wiper assembly (vs just the insert). If they allow for the inserts I got, great, I have spares now. If not, I will return the spares as it's in the return window.
New arms arrived and as suspected they are back to the original design of an insert and metal strips. At least now I have spare inserts and wipers that work like whispering angels
