Default Sidewall diameter

I put some winter tires on my car and in the rear I went with 265/40/19 oem is 265/35/19 will that mess up my drivetrain and differential? The front is still the oem 235/40/19

Probably not a good idea. IIRC, you want the front and rear diameters to not exceed 2-3% in difference. Your OEM difference is 0.4%, while your proposed difference will be 3.4%.

Thank you I appreciate it a lot. Do you recommend getting new tires that are oem size? When I leave my house and pull onto the road I can feel a weird vibration, my car did not do it before but only lasts a second and then is fine. If it will save my drivetrain I will bite the bullet and get new tires. I wish I asked before putting them on, to save a lot of money.

If you were in my shoes would you get new tires that are closer in diameter? I am only going to have these tires on until March, but if it will cause a lot of damage I would rather buy an oem set.

Yes. Don’t need to be OEM size, just close to matching front and rear diameters. If replacing just the rear, then yeah, OEM size is the way to go.

Thank you. Would 235/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rears be good for the diameters? Also should I be concerned about driving my car already with the tire diameter that much different, and should I try to drive as little as possible until I get new tires?

Would -1.5% be fine for a new tire setup?

These specs are the same as oem with -0.4% I’m assuming this is better than a 1.5% with 235/40/19 front 255/35/19 rear? I am going to order them but just waiting to triple check these are the best specs.

Yeah, closer is always better on an AWD.

Do they not make the tires you want in the OEM sizes?

I only drove a hundred miles or so on the new tires with the diameter difference being 3.4%. Should I change out my diff fluid or do anything at all to the car, or just put the new tires on and call it a day? I go Wednesday to get the new tires installed
