Sloshing sound when exiting the car. Any ideas?

On our older ES, enough water can in fact get in to create a sloshing sound - well over a gallon, more like two I think. Genuinely surprised me. That’s how I discovered the issue, same as OP, heard a weird sloshing sound from outside the car near the rear. I know it also can happen on older IS models, not sure about OP’s but I would check this as you suggest.

So, I think it was indeed the fuel.

I burned off some more fuel, and the sound changed. I am now at about 7/8ths of a tank rather than nearly full. It now sounds more like a thumping sound and less like a sloshing. It's more faint, but still there. I think I am happy to chalk it up to that.
edit: Drove the car some more yesterday and could not hear the sound anymore.

lol. I'm just normally very tuned in to noises like that. And to be fair, I've not heard it again since. So I'm not entirely sure that the fuel is what I heard.
