My trunk only opens when using the key. The physical button inside the car doesn't open it. It feels like there is no actuation point - maybe that is the issue?
I messed with the button inside the glove box to see if that would help but no luck.
How can I fix this?

Hey, did you ever fix this issue? The trunk on my IS doesn’t open with any of the buttons inside or outside the car. It only opens with the manual keyhole. I checked and swapped fuses and still the same issue.

 

I actually found the issue. Trunk harness end up chafing and damaging 3 wires. Which also explained my intermittent trunk light.
