Does anybody by chance know what the part number for the factory applied PPF that goes on the left rear door forward curved edge? The kinda triangular looking piece on the 21+ models.
My 500 took a shot yesterday kicked up by a truck driving in the rain that I even heard the impact. Thankfully on closer inspection it did its job and it didn’t make it all the way through and hit the paint but the film is gouged pretty good and it’s ugly so I was going to replace it.
Call the Parts Dept at your dealership.
Describe what you just wrote & they will give you the part number.
Most likely it's 3rd party PPF part.
Be prepared to be shocked by the price when you finally locate local distributor of the exact PPF for your IS 500.
Order from LCOL states to reduce purchase cost & deliver free to to your home, if it's >$100.
Apply the bra yourself to save $36-56 labor cost.
Take note some dealership near you may refuse to apply even if you are willing to pay labor, citing parts are not sold by them.
Most dealership may help to apply for free.
Some dealership dun even help with PPF, even if you bought the car from them, as the PPF is not applied by them.
It's probably applied by Lexus in your country, before the car arrived at your dealership.
Worst case scenario; remove the other side and apply full door ceramic-PPF.
If you drive highways / roads where's there's a lot of debris on daily basis; partial front / full front / full body / full door PPF makes more sense.
I only drive along Highway-1 between 4-6am on weekends between Big Sur/Monterey and Carmel/Pebble Beach, at 45-100mph, depending on which bend, when there's no Highway Trooper / County Sheriff / PD.
The only thing I need is a very good tires which is not over-inflated.
So I removed all the OEM films as it's going to trap debris, become yellowish / brown, at the edge where the adhesives are exposed.
Take note PPF application will remove all the partial OEM PPF / 3M door edge film / door guards.

Doubtful. My 2021 and 2023 ISes both came with this piece installed on the rear door on each side.
Even my 2016 had a similar piece. Lexus has been installing this on ISes since the 3rd gen came out.
I tried looking at parts.lexus.com, but I couldn't figure out which part was the right one. It is probably best to just ask the dealer for the part number or just buy it from them.
The piece on my driver's side rear door took a hit for me recently, too. I'll ask about it when I take my car in for service tomorrow. I should probably replace it.
