I am currently swapping a manual trans into my 3is I’m a bout 95%done just waiting on my ecu to be flashed

 

Hey, as I’m big fan of all DIY non conventional modifications - could you provide more info about it? I’m truly curious about this project.

what year and model is your car, what kind of transmission you swapping in?

 

2015 is250 and I swapped in trans from a 2is when this engine blows I’ll replace it with a 2gr well the time has come time to drop in the 2gr hopefully Jeff can help me with the extra parts I need to get

 

Any pictures? What are your plans for the interior console? I've considered doing this swap myself a few times (2GR/3IS/RA62).

never heard of a 3is swapping in 2is assemblies.

Was it an easy fit or did it require much customization?

 

I kind of chopped up both shifters and bent it as to Favor the side where the original shifter was as for the boot haven’t got that far yet still thinking about what options I have but believe it or not everything kind of fit didn’t have to that much modding trans mount bolted up just like it was I even used the auto drive shaft I grafted the trans tunnel from the donor car

 

I got my ecu back and everything runs but it’s in limp mode not too sure as to why ,yet but I have little acceleration , any ideas ?

please share your findings. Also, how do the ergonomics feel now that it’s a manual?

 

just had to put 12v to a wire and this car should have came in manual

 

Do you think it would be easy to figure out how to connect a Chevrolet crate engine and manual transmission to it? Where was the wiring where the 12v was needed?

 

I installed a button inside that goes to a relay and then it gets tapped to one of the wires that came off the trans harness , “it puts the car in d” and thus full power

 

I just got a 2gr and ecu what else is needed fuel line ?

 

 

Very cool project, I’m curious on what clutch pedal/master cylinder setup you used?
