Default Android Auto split screen...struggling

I am struggling with AA. When I am connected it shows the stupid split screen and shrinks my nav screen to almost useless size. I downloaded the latest update for the app on my phone but still doesnt work correctly.

Supposedly you press the far left Map Icon in the left margin and it will allow you to toggle between full and split. Mine does not do this.

2021 IS350.

What phone and what is your Android version? I am on a Pixel 7 and latest android auto app, maps app, etc. and if I click on the pin drop icon it toggles between full screen and split screen of the map.

Android 12 (cant upgrade further)
Latest AA as of today.

Thinking maybe 12 is the situation.

I have been on Android 13 on this car and it has worked with my Pixel 7. I know previously I have used Android 12 on some other Lexus loaners I have received from service. Also my wife's Samsung Galaxy S10 is on Android 12 and has worked also on those loaners. I don't think that Android 12 is the issue. Have you tried removing the phone from the car, the car from the the android os and clearing out android auto's cache as well and also rebooting the phone? Turn the car back on and then re-pair bluetooth to the phone and setup android auto after and see if that helps. It couldn't hurt to plug into the bottom usb port also. Some say that port seems to work better for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I can't confirm it's any better but it's worth a shot.

I appreciate the assistance! I will perform the above after work today and maybe a fresh slate will allow it to work.

Thanks again!

I had the Note 10+ running on my 2022 IS350 without issue, even when I did the wireless module, now using it on my S24 Plus and no issue.
restart the phone and update it, also check with the dealer for updates

Have you performed the infotainment manual update that the public can do? They have 2 different updates. One for the audio portion of the infortainment systems and the other for navigation. The Audio one can be done my customers, go to their Lexus website and search for the update. You put it on a USB stick and then plug it into your cars USB port and the update will start. The navigation/setting update has to be done at a dealership with their laptop.

Mine works with a wireless Android auto dongle or if I plug in directly to the car with a S22 ULTRA.

I have not. This got pushed to the back burner this weekend because the weather was so doggone nice. Since the weather is going to stink the next couple days I am picking this back up.

I will look up what you referenced above and see if the versions are the same.

I'm confused. Can you show a photo of what it looks like? (May be a good idea to do so in a public place so that you don't reveal your home address lol)

Now I do not know if it knows if your system has ever been updated before or not or just offers an update based on purchase or service date. It's certainly worth a try.

If there is a way to display AA and the nav screen at the same time, I am unaware of it lol.

I am still not sure what the original issue is.

I got back to this so I hope to address the questions being asked of those trying to help me. I have posted a pic that shows the AA map and Media. I cannot for the life of me get rid of the media pane.

I completely removed the IS from my phone, cleared the memory, checked for updates (none), rebooted. I also remove my phone from the IS. Plugged it in and went through all the steps. Same result unfortunately.

When I press the maps tear drop (red circle/arrow) it shimmies/wiggles..whatever you would say indicating I pushed it...but it doesn't do anything on the screen shown below. If I am on a different screen it does move me to the Maps for that pane.

I am currently DL'ing the current update that was referenced above. Probably a long shot but always worth it to dot the i's and cross the t's.
