Default Popularity of the ‘21-‘24

We are in a dense suburb in the NE corridor.
When the ‘21 refresh came out, they were sparse
on the roads due to the supply chain issues, etc.
But I still don’t see many ‘21-‘24 at all. That’s fine with me, as the endless parade of cookie-cutter
BMWs is boring. We have the hottest car in its class IMHO!

I totally agree... I'm in the North Dallas (Texas) area and while I do see them a little more, I don't see MODDED ones..
So I feel in most cases I'm out here by myself too.. LOL..
Most folks are either stock, or you see the richer wives using them to pick up the kids from school or grocery getters..

But make no doubt, our platform is SICK... Love being that one to pull up next to a stock one, act like I don't see them looking, then they hear the exhaust when we pull from the redlight.. LOVE IT!!

Well, no mods here for me. They had inventory
coming in at my dealer with the stock “performance exhaust”
upgrade. I never actually heard it. By the time
I was serious about buying, they weren’t coming
in that way anymore. We are stuck with AWD up
here, which puts a damper on performance mods.

Definitely see a lot of 3IS's here in SoCal, but nearly all brands are plentiful across the board.
I still feel our IS's look better than the competitors. It will be interesting to see what Lexus does with the model for 2025. If it does get another nip and tuck, I hope they clean up the rear lighting. While stylish, it could look more modern and smooth, like the latest NX and RX.

Agreed on all points.

I personally think the rear diffuser could be painted to match the car color. While I have a black one it looks fine to me when I see a red or silver one it looks off with the two tone rear.

I've seen a few of them around here in WA, but never at the car meets and they always stock.

I’m sorry to say that I have not seen, or more precisely, I have not recognized a newer 3IS out there. I can spot the earlier versions because the tail lights are so distinctive (that down sloping point on the side of the car). But this newer version just blends in with the rest of the noise out there, and I haven’t spotted one yet.

Nothing but RAM trucks, Chargers and F150s out in Houston - rather depressing. I hardly see any other new IS350s.

Having said that, having bought the 2023 Special Appearance Package (480 produced) made me feel like I was driving something rather unique.

Until I saw a guy 5 blocks down the road own one as well lmao!

I don't see a ton of them either. If I do see them out and about, it's usually the same ones. I recognize them.

For instance, there is a Caviar IS 500 who must be in my area, as I seem to run into them in various places about once a week. There's an Atomic Silver IS 300 I see all the time as well on one particular street.

North Jersey (Bergen, Passaic, Hudson Counties) I see 21+ IS350 pretty often, they usually bone stock without any visual or mechanical mods but i see 3-4 per week while driving to work for sure.

IS500 on the other hand I only saw once i think someone from nearby has it as they pull up almost every Sunday to the same church!

Truth be told, I went to the dealership wanting an IS500, but they'd sold all of the ones that were made for the year (here in Texas) so that's how I got my fully loaded IS350... Glad I got it instead.. Way more mods for the 350 platform.. The 500 is JUST different enough to where the 350 mods don't fit in most cases..

I also went to the Lexus Driving experience in Sonoma Valley, CA last year as a Christmas present... BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!

Made me fall in love w/ the 500 all over again, got to do time attack w/ the Molten Pearl 500, learned how to drift in the RCF and actually did the track in an LC500... If you can do so, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! You'll never be the same... I came home a better driver and with a better understanding of the dynamic suspension system...

Off topic, but getting back to the lines of the 21+….
The stock side skirts are pretty choppy, with that
one inch or so “running board”. Not sure what the thought was with that. The rear has a lot
of choppy ledges also….top of the bar light, top of the diffuser. Not complaining, I like it. More aggressive than my smoother, rounder 2017.
The 21+ is harder to wash, with more edges and ledges.

Lexus Europe slayed the IS at the end of the 2020 generation. In my opinion, one of their biggest mistakes.
There is no sexy cars in the european Lexus lineup. Unless you find the ES is a sexy car.
