Default Headunit Install Question: got a new one

Hey hey. Got a new headunit to replace my bricked/blacked out one. Saw some videos on removing all the components etc to get to the 4 bolts.

just had a question. Assuming the obvious, battery should be disconnected prior? Seems like in a few of the videos people kept the car on for some reason?

Also any other tips in general so I don’t brick my replacement unit.

Disconnecting your battery definitely won't hurt but you don't need to. I installed mine without taking out the battery and it went smoothly. Though, I will say if you keep the battery in, it will make it easier for you because you can test it before putting back all the bolts and trim together. (Usually its good to test a new part/mod before fully putting everything back so that you can confirm it works and if not then it will be easier)
