NAVIKS Install Question
Thinking about installing a NAVIKS system. I've searched but can't find install instructions. My question: is the installation all in the trunk area or does the center console, radio and nav screen also need to come out? Thx

It's an older thread, but should help you out.

I recently installed a NavTool unit, which I believe is inherently similar to Naviks. The box is installed in the trunk and all the splicing is done there as well. You may need to run cables to the cabin: HDMI, 3.5mm audio and the ground wire for the physical switch. I did the first two and am trying to rig up a timer switch that will live in the trunk and automatically switch to HDMI.
Since I only used the NAVIKS for back up cam, can’t help you with the stereo. As I understand, NAVIKS is a video interface, I don’t know how it interfaces with the new head unit. Anyway, the NAVIKS is plugged in the amp in the trunk, of you want to do anything in the console, you need to run the harness from the back to the front. Many people have done it, so they will chime in.
