Touchscreen Blank 2008 IS250
Hi All,
Does anyone have a recommendation on which service is best to replace or repair my 2008 Lexus IS-250’s touchscreen? It has gone blank.
Apparently this is a common issue. I can remove the stereo/Climate unit myself but not sure if I should send it off to a service ($200-350) or also have seen $25 Amazon TFT screens?
I guess I’d be ok to replace the touchscreen with a non-touchscreen off a wreck (maybe eBay?).

well you're a bit late to the party... considering its a 2008. uhhh you can replace a touchscreen with a screen without touch? how would you select things on the screen? or do you mean the non-nav panel? (I have one I'd sell you for a value meal at McDonalds or if your in central CA and pick it up you can have it....
but really depends on which you value most, time or saving money and how technically inclined you are. I had an IS250 MT when I was in college an made sure my warranty covered the electronics (ironically I had to have the whole engine replaced under warranty. Soon after I bought my F I met my now wife who drove an is350 who's screen had been out. I'm thinking I planned on never doing this... not because I can't but because its tedious as hell. fast forward, not sure what it was cause I did a few things at once including rewiring parts of the harness thet felt brittle bjuying a head unit from another model that uses the same motherboard but costs 1/3 the price on eBay. swapped it out heated it up to make sure all soldering wasn't cracked and boom it worked.
Good experience if you have time but prices of OEM units have fell to like 400 which is less tthen the android units. The interface is a bit dated so I'd probable go aftermarket OEM style.

You're not the first, and there are other threads with what you need to know. Google "lexus gen 5 navigation circuit board repair" and you'll find a whole bunch of guys fixing these units.
