Default Camshaft Sensor Fault

Hi folks.

My warning lights came on ages ago. The diagnostic said it was the cam sensor. After trying to find which one I gave up and replaced them all.

Up until recently all has been fine (3 months). Now the problem has raised it's ugly head again.

I get Bank B and sensor 2 as being the one at fault, which I doubt as they have all been replaced. I suspect it's a wiring fault or a connection.

I've tried to find out which is Bank B and sensor 2, but all I find is "It's on the drivers side, or passenger's side".

Unfortunately these posters don't say if it's a left or right driver car.

Can anyone shine a light for me please? Looking from the front of the car towards the rear.

Depending on the scan tool Bank A should be B1, Then Bank B should be B2. Sensor "A" is for Intake camshafts, the Sensor "B" is Exhaust.

Also could be Sensor 1, Then Sensor 2. Meaning Sensor "A", or "B" if that makes sense.

It does Mike.
I'll be investigating as soon as I can.
If I went near the car just now, I would need to swim.

It's almost always the wiring vs the sensor itself. Try reseating. While apart, look for corrosion, any discoloration of pins, and obviously the wire being pulled from the connector.

Look very close where the wire leaves the grommet, if it has a more vibrant color right by the connector vs 1mm away, the connection could be compromised.

Make sense?
