Need help please!!!
Hi ~ any assistance is greatly appreciated. My car has been sitting for a while due to being ill, it's a 2009 IS 250 Went to drive it and key fob didn't work, I changed the battery key fob worked. Next time car would not start (turned over once) then went out. Called AAA and got a jump and was told my alternator was going out. Drove it that day and went out again in a week key fob would not open the door and the car would not start ~ heard some ticking around the battery but there was nothing I could do but lock the car manually. My question is if it was the alternator wouldn't I have gotten a warning beforehand? Also, should I have it towed to the dealer (the price was double) when I called the service dept. But after checking all that I could read on this forum, taking it to the dealer might not be required. I am a senior and just want to have it done correctly without being taken advantage of. Whatever advice I would appreciate it, I don't do anything without checking here first.
TIA

Looks like the battery has died. Get a new battery and invest in a trickle charger and get quick disconnects installed as well (meaning it is plug and play). The majority of the time if a car is not a daily car, the battery dies. Lesson learned, the battery has to get some charging or else it will die a natural death. Trickle charger to the rescue! Good luck!
