Default Timing chain question

I've been reading some random articles that timing chains can eventually cause issues not necessarily these cars but just in general so got me thinking since my car is very high mileage now and still going well. What are tell tell signs of timing chain related issues that may need attention? Just thought it may be worth while knowing what kind of symptoms or sounds may point to chain slack or some sort of chain issue that may be better to fix earlier before it gets late.

As I've never had any experience with timing chain or belt issue, not sure what to lookout for just incase

In the days befor variable camshaft timing, guide wear and chain wear resulted in longer chains which retarded cam timing that ultimately reduced performance (hp/tq). Now our VVT-i system makes up for chain wear at the risk of running chain tensioners out range to compensate which leads to mechanical contact with other materials and loss of performance.

In bad cases the chain can slap areas not covered by guides filling the oil system with particles.

In short; these should go 250,000 miles with ease if the OCI's were not compromised alomg the way.

Heed the warning when the engine gets louder and look through each oil filter for nylon and aluminum.
