Default Timing Belt Question

New to this forum...thanks for the applause......I just bought a 2005 RX330 to get my wife back and forth to school. It currently has 130 k miles on it. I was told the timing belt was changed at mile 106k (by the used car sales person) My question is - Is their any way to visually check to see if the timing belt has been replaced or not? Thanks

There is no way to tell just by looking. You should register at the Lexus owner's/drivers website. The complete Lexus service history of your vehicle will be there as well as any warranty work or recalls. You will need the VIN to complete the registration. Hopefully the timing belt was done at a Lexus dealership.

There may be a sticker on the timing belt cover. Also, ask the used car sales person where he got the info. It may be that easy.
