I might have missed it, but don't major components (including transmissions) have a VIN plate on it to match it to the original chassis? Couldn't tell you if a 2IS trans has one though; so this is just talking out loud.
not sure but my transmission began to slip once more with code p0894 and another code related to solenoid d stuck. Called him up 6 month warranty will get another transmission installed no cost, let’s just hope he will actually replace considering that I have much more pictures and markings on my current trans to tell if he actually replaced it.

It won't go into drive but it will go in reverse i tried to see if anyone would check it out but everyone i saw today said it needs to be replaced after i mentioned that to them. One of the general mechanics i went to go ask quoted me 2200$ for parts and labor but he didn't mention how many miles on it plus I'm kinda iffy on him because he mentioned to me that he will need to tow the car to a Lexus dealership to have the transmission programed to the car which on the other forums of people replacing their transmission in their driveway didn't mention any of that so who knows let's see what happens.
Pretty sure a lot of people mentions the transmission programming, it’s a thing but I never done it so let’s see once this new transmission gets in my car I will take it to a dealer and see what they say will keep you posted. Dropping the shwip off tomorrow morning!

There is nothing in or on the transmission that has any brains or ID. The ECU and TCU send voltage and look for sensor input. There is no data link reporting 'Who goes there', so these misfit mechanics are BS'g you.

There is however Techstream that will remove all learned behavior and allow the transmission to start learning shift times, slip amount per gear position that is helpful. Why they wouldn't own tools that offer this functionality is the question? As in, maybe your vehicle shouldn't be at a shop that doesn't have the right tools.... Even I have the tool. We also have 3 Toyota's...
