Default IS350 sadness

Hi all,
. So I bought a 2006 Lexus IS350. Car was is decent shape but had starting issue. I decide to ask a friend of a good shop who specializes in these kind of car and sure enough he know someone. After a while the guy who work for the shop told me their shop owner sold the shop to a friend and months after that dude got evicted. I know nothing until two weeks after and now I'm left with a car that still don't start and parts were stolen from it. Anyone know a trustworthy shop or person near southern Cali or by inland empire area?.

Wholly hell, that completely sucks... Sorry man!

Getting a code reader is a good first step once it has a new battery.

So you are looking for a new left tire/rim (should be easy), new front bumper & headlights?

Junkyards have that stuff cheap, especially if you pick the parts yourself (most bumpers clip in, easy to remove + install).

Be glad its not a BMW etc. You will still likely end up with a better car than other luxury brands.

Good luck!

Thanks, I do have a code reader. The issue seems to be electrical.. I'll grab a wiring diagram..

Toyota TIS or www.alldataDIY.com have them. Alldata has a year long subscription for pretty cheap.

Throw down some details and maybe we can solve it from afar... Grab a 12v test lamp and a DMM.

Oh wow - that really sucks. I had something similar happen years ago when I left my car at a garage and the mechanic bolted, stealing some shop tools and some parts off my car.

You're not near me (I'm east coast), or I'd offer you a few of the parts off my project. Most of what you need are parts I don't have, but I see a couple things I could offer (bumper reinforcement, and a headlight that needs some repair). Send me a DM. You can have them for free if you want to pay shipping. Although, it's likely that a junkyard part would come out to be less.

There are a million different junk yards in every city. Some post ads of their stock, others do not. You will have to look hard, make calls, even bribe people.

I needed parts for an Acura and it was rough until I learned the game. By the end, I was smiling because I knew how to get what I needed (and where to look to get it cheap).

A helpful place for searching local yards is:

www.car-part.com

It has saved my *** numerous times.

Well that really sucks 😔. I'm assuming it's not insured. That's the route I would go if it's fully insured

recently my IS had a hard time starting, and it turned out to be a bad fuel pressure sensor which i found out is very common on these cars!
look into that as well since IIRC it blocks the PCM from getting power which will not even throw a CEL!!!
