I have a 2013 IS250 and I have noticed the maps are old.
Is there anything I can do on my own or do I have to go to a Lexus Dealer.
Also, how does a Dealership do an update. Is it via the CD, the OBD, or the center console USB?
Note: I am very proficient technically (MSEE and embedded systems programmer).

It's updated via USB that the dealer sells. I'm pretty sure there are black market copies you can buy on the bay tho. Can't confirm 2013 update process for sure but my 2007 is updated via DVDs and the bay has fake ones for $12.
Interesting. Looks like a cool upgrade.
It seems that the VLINE hacks into the AV connection between the CD player and the Entertainment/Nav System.
I will have to investigate further.

Yes, advantages are, it uses the existing infotainment system, and you can run Android apps directly on your infotainment screen (through the GROM). You can either use your phone as a hotspot, or you can plug in with a usb cable to use Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. I've had it over a year and it works great. Of course the touch screen is, how do I say it...old so it's not as smooth an experience as a modern infotainment system, but it does the job
Theres a few videos on youtube about the Vline. There does seem to be a few small issues with the Vline setup but definitely better than stock. I would keep these issues in mind before buying.
I wanted a higher res screen than factory. I had purchased a Beatsonic double din kit after they confirmed it would fit my late 2009 IS250 but it didnt fit. Was hoping to run it with the ATOTO S8 Ultra that runs android and therefore has Google maps directly on the unit as well as apple carplay and android auto.
Shame it didnt fit as there are not many options for the 2010 plus models.
