Default Over filled oil

Short story my bro in law not a DIY. Changed oil and he over filled oil by 3.5-4 qt since he bought to big jug. on IS250 after overfill drove around for 15 min check engine came on. I reset ecu , drain out all the oil and refilled to correct amount and it having hesitation from stop and go. Like a lag then it jump forward and goes. Wonder anything i need to check also?

I would replace the oil filter element too JUST to be on the safe side.

You need to get the trans fluid back up to par. RWD, or AWD? Probably drained a good 3 qrts if on ramps. I wouldn't drive it until you do that.

That's a pretty big mistake. Could of been a very costly one. Bro in law or not, I wouldn't let him anywhere near underneath or under the hood again...
