Hi guys, I have been looking at some interesting mods for my interior and a shift boot is very appealing to me. I found a part online that claims to be an oem shift boot for the manual shifter in the is250. Does anybody know of any common shift boot mods for the 2is? (I have the automatic)
There isn't a leather boot mod for the auto due to the design of our shifter. I mean, you could probably whip up something custom, but it'll look a bit odd.
I recently fitted the 3IS gear-**** and boot on my 2006 IS250 and also did someone else's or them. A few pics below. More info on the mod on my instagram page:
Also did the same thing with the 3IS shift boot after I saw someone else do it. You just cut a hole the size of the 3IS shift boot/frame with a dremel into the console. I used silicone to have it stay in place.
A few more pics of my gear boot below. I will create a thread with detailed pics and videos soon. I mounted the boot to the OEM frame and then it's a direct bolt on just like OEM. The frame just bolts in with the 4 screws from underneath.
