I can understand feeling that way. Promise yourself you'll make an appointment for this week and you'll then have a resolution to look forward to.

sounds like they are feeding you a load of bull. No you will not die if you are rear ended, the car has a structure still intact even if the rear bumper is bent but in which case you would have probably noticed the rear trunk didn't line up or close. Your rear end still has a subframe, axles, suspension and driveshaft all sitting there working fine. Unless your car is doing a crabwalk on a straight road and you have to hold the steering wheel left to go right, I'd say your frame is likely ok. stick your phone underneath the rear and take a picture facing upwards. that should be enough for anyone to tell.

Did you get a second opinion yet?

Hard to see much in the picture, but I would definitely get a second opinion. There are a lot of reasons for a salvage title and it could be totally fine. It's possible the bumper falling off is completely unrelated to the previous damage to the car, and it is also possible the dealer that sold you the car had no idea. No need to speculate about it.

It seems the OP has moved on without any updates.

I tend to not answer newbie questions any more because they seem to just disappear, and you don't know if the answer you give works or not. At least this OP keep track of the thread before giving up lol
