Default Ignition Coil packs. Anyone had to replace any?

Did anyone have to replace a ignition coil pack in a IS250? What were the symptoms and how many miles on the car when you did? Can someone also recommend a good aftermarket brand that will at least last until the next spark-plug change?

I replaced the ignition coil packs in my wife’s 2007 IS250 back in December. Her car has almost 200k miles. Symptoms for me were—low power, car not even being able to do 30 mph, and running VERY rough. I did the generic test of disconnecting the coil packs to identify which pack was causing the issue, and they ended up being 2,4,6 under the intake manifold.

I ended up using the Import Direct coil packs from Orielly’s. They’ve worked perfectly fine over the last 5 months or so. I believe the were $89.99/ea. Part # 23-0525 . The install took me maybe an hour and a half, but was fairly easy, and corrected the issue.

I had good experience with the Accel brand high output "Super" coil packs. Didn't replace due to OEM not working; was just seeking maximum N/A power.

Symptoms are P030X codes, misfires and shaking while hot and under load like in gears 4 - 6. Increasing the load by for example turning on all the accessories and mashing the gas can induce misfiring.

Be sure to use good quality plugs too and check the gaps.

Recommend getting Denso Ignition Coils (authentic - not copies), buy from a reliable source. Invest on them, they will outlive your car.
