Default Ignition coils replacement

A couple month ago my wife's 2004 Lexus rx330 had a problem, bad ignition coil. It was either 5 or6, so since we were on the trip I had to take it to the mechanic and replace it . To reach this coil they had to take off the intake manifold and it was not cheap. But since we were out of town and it was Friday after 4:30pm, I guess it was worth every penny. A day or two ago my wife noticed the engine warning light and the car moving very rough on idle and low gears. Checked out the error code, ignition problem on cyl 2 ( thank god) and cyl 2 misfiring. So it is 99.99,% the problem with ignition coil and this one is on the front so easy repair. However, since 2 out of 6 ignition coils failed, should I just replace the rest of them as well? At least the ones on the front of the engine? And the other questions, how often do the ignition coil fail, considering the old age of the car, 2004 and 160k miles. Thank you.

The ignition coils on these cars fail at all different mileages, there is no "standard" life expectancy. Since the front ones are easy to change, you could hold off changing them all. But if another back one fails, maybe you want to replace the last original at that time.

The ignition coil that is detected bad this time is on number 2 cylinder, so it is easy to replace. What I was concerned about is if i should change the ones in the rear of the engine that require removing of the intake manifold and if i will be changing the rear coils, is there any way to reach them.without intake manifold removal. Thank you.

pn rx350s you remove the wipers and the cowling. you then have access down the rear of the engine. do a search on this forum for changing spark plugs and you will find a step by step instruction. I would think rx 330 is the same.
