sticky dash issues
Here's my deal with the "campaign" on the sticky dashboard....
My 07' ES350 had the dashboard replaced in 2017 with a brand new one at the dealership. Now I'm having the same issue. It's sticky and shiny in two spots..I am beyond MAD!!!! I called corporate, who said call the dealership, who said call corporate....Call and spoke to the corporate manger 4 Times...she finally hung up on me after I got a little heated(lol)... All 4 times, she said quote 'there is nothing we can do about it'....It had a 1 year warranty, and that's that!!!!
So I told her basically, that they used the same crappy material that they used before the "Campaign"!!!!! I still own a 2001 RX300, never, ever using a sun shield here in Florida, and dash STILL LOOKS Brand new!!!!
Has anyone else had this issue with the dash, or just me?
Thanks for listening to me complain.

I always wondered what material the original dash / door panels were manufactured from that became so deflective, and what material the "replacement" dash / door panels were manufactured from.
Form BaronBaron's post, perhaps the replacement parts used were just left over original stock?? Perhaps the more owners that follow up and provide more information (how long since having dash and or door panels replaced has gone by / region of the country vehicle has resided in since having the parts replaced - warm climate etc., and confirm the current condition of the replaced parts, may possibly confirm if the same parts / material were used or new. Would be an interesting survey.

I don't know what the campaign number is. I have spoken to Lexus corporate three times. I have also contacted one of the law firms that handled this previously in a class action. Lexus is being nice, but I am not getting anywhere. They keep telling me that they are escalating it, but when I talk to them, they tell me the same thing... investigating. They insist that Experian has reported my car as a total loss and they won't replace. First, I have a rebuilt title. It says it on the title. Second, I stand on the fact that the dash and door panels came out of the factory with the defect and were not affected in the front end damage that was repaired. Third, the car has been closely examined and a "health check" run by Lexus, and nothing is wrong with it. Fourth, Experian has no record of reporting the car status to Lexus, and they don't see my car anywhere because I paid cash for it. I feel that they are stalling. I also asked Lexus for the campaign information documents, and cannot get them so far. Try this link. Just found it. Secondary expiration date is 1/8/2026 for ZLZ... https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...45764-9999.pdf

Evotechnik, thank you for posting the photos and suggesting to replace the dash yourself rather than having LEXUS do it to save on costs. Did you install a pre-owned dash or purchase new (Dash Panel 55101-53171 / 2006 - 2012 IS 250 Base & C, IS 350, IS F) ?

Picked up a new dash from a dealer 40 miles away from me for a total of $291.95
Will be doing the replacement myself next weekend - still waiting for a new Carplay headunit to arrive.
All-around tint kindda helps on door panels but the stickyness of the dashboard is always there and will never go away so it's really worth replacing it.
