Talking Restored my IS headlights

Before

After
Hey Everyone,
I spent about 10 mins yesterday using a headlight kit and I am really impressed with how they turned out.
Has anyone else restored their IS lights recently?

Yeah, I restored mine by replacing them! LOL! I started to despise the quarterly cleaning of my headlights. It got to the point where even when cleaned their light output wasn't great regardless. So new TYC factory replacements for me! I LOVE them so far!

Yes I spent a hour restoring them and then just got spec d headlights a week later. They leaked water so they sent me a replacement set for free and didn't ask me to send the other set back. So now I have a brand new pair of spec d headlights on the garage if and when this pair has issues

But here's the pic mines were pretty bad

I was thrilled with the results the first time I restored my headlights, but like Gville350 said, the terrific results don't last. The abrasive takes off the UV protection, and even if there is a UV sealer in the kit, it doesn't last like for years like the factory coating did. I too am growing of needing to repeat the restoration process several times a year, and am also considering replacing the housings.

For headlight restorations, I would recommend respraying with Spray Max 2K Urethane. This will be the permanent solution.

They make a headlight kit for Spray Max now for $35. https://amzn.to/2PuOyNr

Gotta make sure to use a high solid respirator though for $20. 2K Urethane is professional stuff with neurotoxins. https://amzn.to/2w4Bdod

Also best either remove the headlight or mask the whole care for overspray.

Yes, TYC factory replacements with HIDs with AFS. The first one my body shop owed me for free because they chipped the top-most edge of my passenger lense when had it in their possession. Before and after pics are a MUST when handing your baby off to a shop for work!

The second I purchased myself to complete the set from this place (cheapest on eBay) : https://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-06-08...kAAOSw07ddrjiw
