Default Early IS350 problems??

Hey everyone

I am currently looking for a used Lexus is350 within the model years of 2006-2010.
I have found 2 2006 models in my area (Northern Cali).
After doing some research and looking at their service histories on MyLexus, I see that the timing cover leaks, water pumps like to go out, transmission pan leaks, and oil pan leaks.

In short, I was just wondering if those problems can come up at anytime regardless of mileage and if I should stay away from early models (06-07) and just look for 2008 years and above? Or are those early model years still as reliable as any other Lexus car?

Thanks everyone.

I have an 06 is350 thats salvage, and it has 122k miles with none of those issues so far. I checked my vehicles service history and it showed a lot of care from the first owner on lexus.com and that person had it for a long time with lots of dealership check in's with maintenace and recalls as well. So far for mine the touch screen died and had work on that it was 400, just a bandaid fix because it returned again and the shop changed some motherboard in it after. Otherwise honestly nothing else major just maintenance items, but I would say the most important thing would be the service history of the car.

I have oil pan leak but is not really that bad, is just moist all around the gasket and no drips on the ground so is not really something to go crazy about... nav unit sucks the dvd drive died around 150,000km on mine, transmission pan still not leaking even with 200,000+km

Gaskets can wear out on any car due to age, it's not something specific to the 2IS. We are talking about a car that is 10+ years old. These cars are rock solid reliable but like any car they have their weak spots. Just keep an eye out for leaks and fix them if they pop up. Our '08 IS250 has close to 170k and there are no leaks anywhere.

As long as it is not a leak from the timing cover, all others are easily fixed. But don't let the early model year 2IS push you away; I have a Sept '05 built IS350 that has been rock solid since my purchase of it in April 2011. The only leak I had was minor, from the trans pan. This seal I replaced when doing a trans fluid trickle flush.
