So last night I pulled out the stock woofer which sounded scratchy and blown. Pushing down on the cone I could feel it was rough and scratchy but if I pushed the cone towards one side it was smooth. So I took a rubber mallet and gave the magnet in the back a few hard wacks in various directions seeing as it was going into the garbage anyway. Somehow it shifted the magnet so the voice coil didn't rub anymore. Mounted it back in the car and it sounds new again.
