So I’ve been searching for a set of takeoffs (preferably 2014 and up) staggered wheels for my ‘13 and not having a lot of luck.
Then today I realize the extra set of 2017 PP1 Mustang wheels I have sitting in the garage are 5x114.3 bolt pattern. 19X9 & 9.5. Rear is 52.5mm offset/186mm backspacing. Front is 45/172.
is it a dumb idea? One would have to get the correct lug nuts being 60° comical, but that’s probably doable. I’d imagine it won’t hub center either.
Personally, I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work.
I came at the Mustang hubs from the opposite end: imagining Touareg/Cayenne Brembo calipers, an adapter bar to mount them to, and 350mm rotors from a Mustang. If the Mustang rotor centerline offset isn't crazy, it should get you more stopping area than any 2is option, for under a grand.
Yes, hub bore size is different - 60.1 mm for the Lexus 70.5 for the mustang. You should be able to get a set of aluminum rings to make them hub-centric. I would stay away from plastic hub-centric rings.
