Default 2008 IS250 Electrical Problem

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and I thank those for welcoming me. My problem is kind of odd. I have a 2008 IS250 with about 130,000 miles. Just recently, after I start my vehicle, and about 10 seconds go by, the speakers, not the radio, turn off, my seatbelt lights come on, BRAKE light, ABS light and ABS OFF lights all come on. Also I have no power steering, which I realize is electric power steering. Then after about 2-5 minutes, the speakers crackle back to life, my VSC OFF light comes on, the P/S light comes on and the skid control indicator lights up. Within seconds all lights shut down, power steering is restored, and the car acts normal. I have done a hard restart, in that I have disconnected the battery for more than 15 minutes, more than once, and no change. Also, I have done a load test on the battery, showing the battery is at 98% SOH, and 100% SOC. Top pic is for the first few minutes. Bottom pic is right before the car gets back to normalcy. Amy thoughts, ideas, or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.

To Moisture,

Maybe, but with the load test, I also did a charge test, and the Ancel BA101 load tester has a charge test function, and it said charging was just fine.

Usually when multiple warning lights and sensor go off all at once and sporadically, It's a bad ground wire connection issue. Check your ground wires, make sure they are clean and tight.

To Phantom_89,

Ok. I checked and cleaned the ground wire at the battery, and it was good, but maybe there is a ground issue somewhere down the line. I will take a closer look this weekend. Thanks.

Yeah check the ground on the chassis side too. The battery side is usually more visible and easy to maintain but often the chassis side is overlooked. Check your fuses too if any have blown. If there's a short in one of the other wires it might help you narrow it down.

To Phantom_89,

Yup, recently found out that the car has had damage to the front passenger side. Wonder if that did some damage to the wiring in that corner of the car, or maybe knocked a ground loose. Will have to start rippin and tearin, see if something shows up. Thanks.
