Default Really bad paint peeling

Just bought my IS350 a week ago and the paint peeled really bad after I drove through the worst rainstorm of my life. Is this the original paint? My grandfather was really skeptical because he's never seen paint peel like that. Could it be a wrap? Whats the best way to fix and how much is it gonna cost?

Doesn't look like wrap to me. Looks like a really cheap paint job. Most likely the car was hit in the front and they got new parts and repainted it cheaply. Best way to fix that is to just repaint the hood and hope that's the only part that has that paint. You can do it cheaply again and just paint a section of it but I would just do the whole thing it won't look right imo if you only did a section

I would now be taking a very very good look at the front end and making sure everything is as it should be as it may have had some sort of front end damage to warrant the paint job on the bonnet (hood as you say!) and yes looks like a very bad paint job with no actual key provided for the paint and iirc is the bonnet ( ok hood) made from aluminium?

Yes the carfax shows that there was "moderate front damage" back in 2010. The hood most likely got replaced and repainted. Now, what do I do from here?

Hood is aluminum and the underlying primer there looks overly shiny which may be why this paint is coming off. Paint prep is 70% of a good paint job and if there was no bond to primer, all bets are off.

Start looking for overspray and get an idea what all was painted if the hue doesn't give it away.

Also, agree on paint the whole hood as all the paint needs to come off anyway.

Is that a gap between the hood and grill or just reflections.

Most likely reflection. There is also rubber sticking out.

Just got quoted 400$CAD for a repaint and 200$CAD for a black wrap. Im not sure which one I should go for. Pros and cons of each?

If you wrap right over that it will show through the wrap. So with all the work needed to smoothen out that peeling you might as well repaint it

Black wrap will look very cheap imo. Most people do this to there cars because they rear ended someone and they picked up a different colored hood from the junk yard it won't look right. Now if it's real carbon fiber good or something like that it'll look nice. Don't make the car look cheap just get it painted and call it a day
