Default Wanting to buy a 2is 350

Recently I've been looking into buying my first car, and I think that a Lexus 2is 350 would be a perfect choice. I have the option of choosing between a 2is 350 AWD and a RWD. I wanted to know if someone could tell me the differences between the two. It doesn't really snow or rain where I live, so that wouldn't be a factor on which one I would buy.

Also, I was wondering which one would be faster?

Having driven plenty of AWD IS cars as loaners, I'm always irritated by the transfer case hump that intrudes in the driver's footwell. If you don't need AWD for its inclement weather capability, I'd go with the RWD.

I've owned both: 2006 RWD and 2012 AWD, both 350s. As Bichon said, if you don't need AWD for weather get RWD. I found the transfer case bump annoying, but you get used to it. When accelerating from a dead stop I found the AWD seemed to lag a bit longer.

RWD, plus with the AWD system, that's just another case that needs fluid and an additional set of half shafts to maintain.

I just bought a 2012 IS350C RWD and love it. I live in Florida so no need for AWD here. Unless you really really really need AWD I would go with the RWD. Good luck.

I had a 250AWD before stepping up to my 350 RWD. My car isn't winter driven but it wouldn't be that bad with good snows on it. The Lexus VSC system works very well and saved me even a few times in the 250 AWD.

RWD just handles better imo as well.. steering is a touch lighter I found due to no halfshafts up front.
