I want to check the coils on my IS350. I saw a video where the guy was using an ohm meter on an IS300. How do I find the OHM specs for my '09 IS350?

 

Best bet is Toyota TIS 48hr subscription. There is also Alldatadiy.com. I bought a year subscription for $20 or something like that.

The problem is unless they are dead, ohming them only tells part of the story. Engines that run good cold but misfire when warm and under load like 4th, 5th, 6th gear pulling an incline, these are cases where the insulation properties break down and the spark jumps right through the coil to ground. This is no easy to test for and your ohm test will not capture this. But the car could start and run fine until under load.
