Default Headlight lense compatibility

So I'm looking to replace my other headlight since the difference between my old one is dramatic (very yellow). I want to save money by buying a halogen assembly and just using the lense off of it and retrofit to my stock HIDs. Was hoping for some insight to see if this would work before spending $200... Any help is appreciated

Professional headlight restoration is anywhere from $60-90. DIY'ing wetsand, polish, and clearcoat will probably be $20-30

I was a detail manager at my last job so I did my headlights a few years back and granted they were much better but it still had a yellowish/opaque color to the inside of the lense. I'm confident the only way to get the passenger headlight to match the new driver side one is to replace it but theyre $600 a piece unless I do the lense replacement idea (if it works)
