Default ISF wheels on IS350

Hello CL community,

I apologize in advance if this had already been posted/shared! I looked under the search tool, but couldn’t find anything specific. Here’s my current dilemma: I have a 2012 IS350 AWD that I’m trying to put on a set of OEM 2009 ISF wheels. They are the 19” staggered set commonly referred as the “blades”. My best friend @Rickna and I put them on car not knowing if they would clear my OEM calipers. Turns out they didn’t. Went and got some 8mm at my local auto parts store. Slapped the wheels back on and the lug nuts wouldn’t bolt on to the studs.

What’s the issue here? Do I need thinner spacers? Perhaps 5mm?? Do I need extended studs? Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Thank you!

It's well known that the 8" wide ISF front wheel will not clear the IS350 front calipers. 5mm Should be plenty for a spacer. 5mm extended studs would be a good idea.

That aside your AWD chassis will not appreciate the new stagger. It is expecting the roll out to be the same front to rear. Tire selection will be critical and I'm not sure you can equalize the rolling diameter. Use an online calculator.

^^^^^The stagger is only in wheel and tire width not in wheel/tire OD. The stock ISF tires are 225/40/19 and 255/35/19.

Rev's per mile came up far closer than I would have expected. Make a safe install and you should be good.

Thank you! I’m fully aware of the staggered set & AWD system. This isn’t my fist AWD build on staggered wheels! I’ve done it successfully on 2 other Lexus I owned in the past!

Reporting back! 5mm hubcentric spacers & issue was fixed! In love with how good the car looks with the ISF wheels! Thank you all for your tips/suggestions shared! Greatly appreciated!

Default 5mm spacers

I got some 5mm hubcentric spacers for my is350c 2010. Did you get a full 6 turns on the lugs with the spacers? The guys who powdercoated my stock 18inch rims said it was the minimum for safety.
thanks

One actually desires the full diameter of the stud which I think is 12mm. So, if it allows 12mm of depth from first contact, I'd feel safe.
