Default Can this be fixed...cheaply?

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted. I'm still loving my '06 IS50. She's still my baby and I plan to keep her as long as possible. Currently she has small dent on the wheel well (correct me if that's the wrong name for the location) . I ran over a stick on the highway. The dealer's estimate is almost $3k because according to them the entire part will need to be replaced, repainted, blah, blah, blah.

But I'd like to know if anyone thinks it can be repaired with the paintless dentless method. It's not all that noticeable. I guess I can live with it if i have to, but I'd like to repair it if won't cost more than the car is worth.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is just the front fender, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those just bolt off, and then... think of the possibilities

Easiest would be a junkyard replacement of the same color I guess (I'm guessing 250/350/220d all fit, but double check), but it should still be bendable into shape. Will probably still need at least light filler, and definitely spot repair.

Good luck!

Yes, you are correct it is the it is the front fender. I have no clue if they bolt on or not and I don't think hubby has the patience or time (he travels with work). I guess i'll have to take it someplace to be repaired.

Do not pay Lexus $3k to do this. They are $60 online. Get it painted for a few hundred and then call a backyard mechanic to install it. (It's a simple job so really even some kid off Craigslist for $100 should be fine if your husband doesn't have time or want to. Just make sure you take it to a shop that does good quality paint you don't want it chipping and peeling off in a few months(the paint is the only thing you shouldn't cheap out on) other then that find the cheapest dude to do it. And find the cheapest fender. Or find a OEM fender that's already painted to your color code!

I’m in the same boat as you. I have 2 damaged fenders due to being lowered.

you can purchase prepainted fenders on eBay in your color for around 400 dollars.

you can also search junk yards and find a used fender in you color for around 300-400 also if you want oem Lexus brand.

It’s a shame that body work costs so much.... but a fender and swap it out. Today I just damaged my plastic front bumper a bit as well lol.

Does this damage need to be fixed though? Seems minor and won't inhibit the usage of the vehicle in any form. If anything, pay a PDR expert to do the best they can and touch up the missing paint where possible.

A good dent repair place will take care of this, take your time to find a good one.. Then you don't need to worry about matching paint and long downtime. Good luck.
