Default Want To Paint Lexus Emblems

I want to paint the chrome Lexus IS350 emblems on the back of my car. I found a CL thread where a member used black plastidip--masked a square area around the emblems then sprayed them, then peeled the plastidip around the emblems off the car paint leaving the emblems in plastidip. Looks like it turned out good.

Anyone else try this??

I did my front grill with plastic dip. 10k miles of highway drivind and a few months of New England weather. Still holding up with no chips. I plan I’m doing the emblems in the spring.

Yep, the kid wanted emblems and grill in matte black. Believe it or not it was very easy...the more coats the better. You would think it would peel off the emblems as well but they are raised just enough not to.

Here are couple photos (just starting to finished):

Finished the emblems today in Plastidip--turned out good! Watching the YT videos was a great help.

I did some stock 17's from my IS250 days up in black plasti dip. When done right its great stuff. These were used as winter wheels and they held up great. Using a tough of the glossifier adds a nice touch as well.
