Default IS250/350 navi/cluster cross-compatibility

Hi all,

I've just ordered a 2006 JDM spec IS350 in from Japan which has the Japanese navi/radio touch screen unit. I've been looking at what people do to convert these to english, and found everyone says you'can't do anything, then I came across a video of a New Zealand shop which looks to be swapping in New Zealand new navi units into the JDM models, as per the video below:

The downside being they charge $2,500 (1700 USD) for the process which isn't worthwhile to me.

As far as I can tell, they never sold a New Zealand IS350, but they did sell the IS250 with a New Zealand navi system, which I'm able to buy from a wreckers for about $700.

My questions:

1. To confirm, the IS250 / IS350 radio navi unit is the same thing?
2. Does anyone know if there are additional components required to change to the NZ navi system, or if it would just be the navi unit itself? My guess would indicate it's just the navi unit, given the $2,500 the company charges for the process would quickly reduce if they're buying other materials on top of the $750 navi unit

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Pacu
I have also been checking out options for my JDM import 2008 IS350
Looks like they replace the Touch screen section with Android based unit like this ----> https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale...it+lexus+is250
then piggy back connections for reversing camera, steering wheel controls, CD/DVD player and climate control.
You will end up with the existing Lexus operating system controlling those functions and the new android OS running Navigation (with downloaded NZ maps) as well as bluetooth and phone mirroring.
You can also use downloaded apps from Play store such as Iheart radio, Spotify, Google maps etc
Install cost should be less than $200 plus purchase cost $400US plus shipping plus any NZ taxes.
OEM Audio in Christchurch do a complete replacement unit for NZ $1400 plus install.

Good luck
